It is with the deepest sorrow and sense of loss that
I write to you for the loss of your loved one. No
words can express the pain that your family
members and friends feel at this time. We know
not God’s plan for us or our loved ones. Serving
your fellow man is the greatest call that God gave
to mankind, and your loved one answered that call
and paid the greatest price with their life. There is
no greater sacrifice.

The people of Haiti were blessed to have the
service of the United Nations family in their quest
for true nation building and for a better life for their
children. Your loved one’s contribution to help the
people of Haiti will no doubt provide them a joyous
welcome by Almighty God in Heaven.

Thank you for your loved ones service and the
support you gave their calling to Haiti. May God

Foreign Minister Joseph Deiss has been
elected to the annual presidency of the
United Nations General Assembly.
He will take up his office at the opening of
the 65th session of the General Assembly
in New York on September 14.
